I know, I know. I have a bad habit of naming things part one and taking ages to make it any further. But here it is, MTSayuRin’s review of Sayumin‘s Fantastic Birthday Tour DVD, part two. ^^ Okay so the word fantastic isn’t actually included in the title… but it could be. Please check out part one here if you haven’t yet.
So, we are onto the second disc of the DVD. It starts with Sayu cooking curry rice with her fans. Or, to be more specific, Sayu cuts out carrot in cute shapes and the fans do the rest. Then they eat together. It’s all very nice with a cosy atmosphere. :)
There is also a questions corner. If only I had more confidence in my Japanese, I could translate the contents of the DVD for everyone to read. I’m quite sure I understood most things, whenever I concentrated on listening. But I’m afraid of making mistakes and putting words in Sayu’s mouth that she never actually said. And even if I did a good job, it would take an eternity from me. I’m sorry. Maybe these screencaps will make up for it? Maachan (Masaki Sato) was discussed quite a bit.
After the meal, another talk event is about to start. Fans are getting excited, and so is Sayumin. Look at her hands move. So so so cute. ♥
During this event, Sayu shows her childhood photos to her fans. Isn’t it lovely? After cooking a simple everyday dish together, the fans get to sit on the couch with Sayu, looking through the family photo album. Well… sort of. It’s simple, natural and charming. In the screencaps below, you can see some (but not all) of the photos.
And one from when she had just joined Morning Musume, with Eri. :)
There was a questions corner again and like I said before, I won’t go into details. However, I can tell with confidence what Sayu said when asked if she would like to cut her hair short like Maasa from Berryz Kobo just did. I would know her answer even if she said it in a language of aliens from the outer space. The answer was pretty much “even though Maasa looks cute like that… NO WAY!”.
Sayu ends the second disc by stating that this was a wonderful two days, like a dream come true. Sure, that’s the sort of thing you would expect an idol to say. But when you look at her, you know she means it. Sayu has been in the show business for over a decade, but she still gets adorably nervous before performing. She seems flawless at first glance, with her gorgeous looks and carefully picked outfits. But there’s something even more beautiful about her. The way Sayu acts around her fans and gets excited over the smallest of things is something so natural and so precious, it makes me feel lucky to be her fan. Yes, even when I live so far away from her. I am lucky to even know that she exists.
I give this fantastic DVD 24 points out of 10. If you ever get a chance to buy or even just watch it, by all means do! ^^
Oh and here’s the DVD itself plus an advertisement leaflet that was printed out earlier this year and given to fan club members and the audience of Morning Musume’s spring tour.
Here is the wristband bracelet with the two L photos that came with it.
And here is the hug pillow that… no, wait, I don’t have a pic of it. I only owned it in my dream.
