If nothing else gets me back to blogging, Sayumin does. :)
I have just received and watched Sayumi Michsihige‘s 24th birthday tour DVD. At almost 8,000 yen + fees + internal and international shipping + four months of waiting time, it’s the most expensive DVD I have ever purchased, but it’s worth every yen and easily one of my best idol related purchases. The full title is Morning Days Happy Holiday Michishige Sayumi Birthday Fan Club Tour in Ibaraki. You can watch a digest on UFI Fanclub channel on YouTube here. You don’t have to overdo it like I did though, a few times should be enough… hehe. ^^ Anyway, here’s the logo, complete with Sayumin’s adorable drawings.
And here is the adorable idol herself. ♥
I wasn’t able to understand everything, so I’m afraid this won’t be very informative a post. I can’t really promote the DVD anymore either, since it was only available for a limited time. I simply want to share my excitement with like-minded fangirls and boys, if that’s alright. And really, who would say no to some Sayu picspam?
It was a two day bus tour, and the DVD case comes with two discs as well. The first one is 72 minutes long and consists mostly of the two shot event and the birthday live. The second one is 53 minutes long and has footage from the second day events, including the curry rice meal Sayu enjoyed with her fans (see DVD cover).
The first disc starts with Sayu checking out the tour goods. Aren’t those hug pillows a brilliant invention? I can only imagine how my home could look like if I lived in Japan. I wonder if my parents would still visit me? Surely they would still love me? …I mean, Sayumin, you are a genius!
Something is making Sayu laugh…
She is laughing at this! Too bad I can’t understand what it says.
Very cute goods and photos. I only got the DVD and the wristband bracelet, which came with two L sized photos. You’ll see a close up of the wristband in the live screencaps below.
It’s Mr Rabbit… pretending to be embarrassed?
Preparing for the two shots. Sayu relaxed her face by patting it and doing vocal exercises, in a very cute way.
See the girl on the left hand side, with the flowers around her head? She is wearing what looks like a black version of the ice cream top that Sayu wore later the same day! What a lovely idea. I hope these people don’t mind me uploading this pic. It’s just their backs, after all. It looks like this first talk session was for female fans mostly, the DVD also shows another one.
Onto the two shots. Here, Sayu exchanges a few words and expressions with a fan. My heart starts to thump with excitement when I imagine myself in the fan’s place.
Sayu’s honto?! face, with another fan.
If I got it right, the first pic here shows a pose that Sayu suggested for those who can’t make up their mind.
Sayu was adorably nervous and excited before the live!
Sayu sang Hajimete no Happy Birthday, Lalala no Pipipi, Fantasy ga Hajimaru, Tropical Koishiteru, I&YOU&I&YOU&I, Zero Kara Hajimaru Seishun and Happy Daisakusen… twice. Let’s sing Happy Daisakusen again and this time, everyone move along with me, like this. It’s amazing how an idol can get a sea of people move exactly the way she wants, and everyone does it with great pleasure (I know I would).
Like Sayu herself pointed out, some of the obvious choices such as Akai Freesia and Aruiteru were missing in the setlist. I’m happy with it though. Zero Kara Hajimaru Seishun is my favourite album song from the 13th album… right after Lalapipi, of course.
It’s always challenging to take good screencaps from live performances, but here you go. With every step she takes, with every note she sings, with every expression she makes, you can see how happy she is to perform. She looks gorgeous and cute and she just… glows. ♥
There was a fairly long MC with two “brothers” who referred to Sayu as big sister Sayumi. I assume they are comedians, but I’m afraid I don’t know their names. There was a questions corner. And as seen in the screencaps below, they showed the crowd how to dance to “Sayumin no Uta”. The lyrics are… exactly what you would expect from something called Sayumin’s Song.
Here you can see the wristband bracelet up close. Mine is still sealed, but I’m tempted to wear it now.
Of course, the fans sang for Sayu. In the background, you can see birthday messages from fellow Morning Musume members.
Sayu basking in the love of her fans. Show me an idol who loves her job more than Sayu does, and I… won’t believe you.
If it’s a birthday event, there must be cake, right?
And finally, Happy Daisakusen, take two.
After the live, there is an oyasayumin session, just so Sayu can bid goodnight to her fans. This is the ice cream top that I mentioned before. Also, this is the fantastic idol that I have mentioned a million times before. I love her.
This is where disc 1 ends. Part 2/2 of my blog post coming soon… the screencapping is very enjoyable for me but time-consuming as well. In the meantime, please come back to this post anytime to have another look at the screencaps? ^^
Oh and the cake? Sayu said it was tasty as well as cute. Oh how I love those expressions. ♥
